I stopped in a while back to check out a few guitars. When I wanted to try one out, the owner said my fingerprints on the fretboard would lower it's value. This was odd to me, as most music stores encourage you to try before you buy...so needless to say i didn't purchase anything that day. There was a large variety of instruments and accessories though, not a bad shop at all! **Edit: To the owner: I was looking at a used Ibanez acoustic when you mentioned the thing about the fingerprints...I can understand if that guitar was already purchased by someone, but there was nothing to indicate that. That was my main issue...in my experience, fingerprints on a fretboard don't really depreciate the value when it comes to buying a used instrument under $300. So I just wasn't clear why that particular model was off limits, even though it was among the rest of the inventory.
