About a week ago I was involved in a collision. I had my car towed to the nearest auto-body shop (Mineola-Jericho Autobody) as I was unsure how things were going to proceed. A week later, my insurance company had finally gotten back to me and we were ready to move the car to one of my insurer's shops.
That's when things got interesting.
Doug, the owner of Mineola-Jericho Autobody, first told me over the phone that I was "wasting his time" and that this wasn't "how [he] did business." He said that in order for them to release my car, he would need a copy of my driver's license, registration, AND a notarized letter.
I provided these items to his secretary. Then, once I left, Doug began to harass the tow truck driver who came to take my car, apparently saying he had been fixing my cars for years and that they were stealing his customer. To reiterate, this is my first (and last) dealing with Mineola-Jericho Autobody.
