Paraco bought the company (Island Propane) that serviced our second home in Westhampton Beach. They delivered propane gas to us for about a year and have come much less to refill the tank than their predecessor. Unfortunately, they waited too long, we ran out of gas, had a pipe break and flood the house. I have now waited for over 30 minutes to get someone on the phone to ask about them paying to fix the problem. Still on hold for a CS rep. I have heard that this has happened to many homes that are serviced by Paraco. They bought a variety of companies and now don't have the team or ability to service their customers well. I will update my experience when I speak to a representative. 01/15/2018 10:39AM - Just spoke with a manager named Eva, she apologized for the problem and asked that I speak with Dave Latouurell who would help me with this issue. I will keep you updated... 01/15/2018 12:20 - Spoke with Elizabeth Almonte, she asked if I could tell her what the damage is to the property. She said that someone from their insurance company will call me back within 24 hours. Will keep you posted... ****UPDATE**** 3/5/2018 - While going into this with best intentions; Paraco gave me the impression they would be taking responsibility for the damage that they are solely responsible for by not delivering propane gas on a timely schedule. This resulted in a broken pipe that ruined over 2500 feet of wood floors, furniture, walls and more. They turned my claim over to their insurance company (Travelers Insurance) which was OK with me at first. After a couple of good calls with agents from travelers, they then turned it over to a person who's goal was to make sure they don't pay out any monies. It really sucks when you try to do things honestly and expect the same in return. Now I have to turn it in to my insurance company and let them fight it out. The end result will be my insurance bill will go up and I will be responsible for a $10,000 deductible. Not good Paraco! ****DON'T USE PARACO, they are not Honorable!!!!***
I strongly recommend to anyone that is moving to Westchester County avoid Paraco Gas Corporation. My wife and I moved our family to Croton-on-Hudson in November of 2017. We live in a remote area so when we moved in we decided we needed to install a generator. We thought the quickest way to get one installed would be to stay with Paraco as they serviced the house for many years before we moved in. We called Paraco the week we moved in to start discussing our generator installation. Within a week there was a representative out to our house. We discussed our need for a generator and our strong desire to get one installed before the weather turned bad. The representative said there would be no problem and that they would handle the permitting process for us as that would be more efficient. He left and the service contracts came to us via email within 24 hours. My wife and I were happy with the attentive service thus far so we signed the contracts and sent them back. Not bad for a first week in a new house! Well now it is March 2018. I am sitting at home in a house with no power in the middle of winter storm Riley. The house is getting cold and we are considering a move to a hotel nearby to keep our children safe and warm. It is really too bad that the generator that has been sitting on my property for two months is not operational. We haven’t seen a Paraco representative on our property since that first meeting and we have to constantly call for updates on the status of our permit. From December 12 to mid February we received absolutely zero updates from Paraco despite numerous attempts at calling the representative in charge as well as the main Paraco numbers. When the representative finally did get in touch with my wife, about mid February, it was to inform us that the permit had been sitting on a desk somewhere the whole time! What excellent service. In summary I am less than pleased with Paraco Gas Corporation. It seems that they have great service until service contracts are signed. They have been horrible ever since. On top of that they act like this is business as usual, no apologies, no attentive call backs, no updates even after the mess they created.
