I recently went to the Addison Street Spa for the first time. My massage therapist was Kate. She was amazing! I told her about some health issues I was having and what areas I felt needed concentration. She listened and asked appropriate questions. She was knowledgeable and demonstrated a true understanding of the body. I've had license therapists before who've done little more than kneed my skin with oil. The massage was very relaxing. She was attentive to my specific needs and worked carefully on problem areas. When she was done I felt a great relief from the neck and shoulder pain I had been feeling. I had 1 1/2 hour massage and she spent the entire time actually massaging. In the past when I've had longer massages at other places they would include a foot treatment or something non-contact as part of the additional time and I always felt cheated. I really feel that I got my money's worth.
The therapy room was spotless and spalike. The linens and bed were very comfortable. The spa itself is a cute little store front shop in Larchmont. It's across from a school. I went on a Saturday so it was pretty quiet. I was able the get a parking spot right out front. The whole place was clean, welcoming, and cozy. The front desk receptionist was very friendly. She even gave me a little gift bag with bath salts for my first time there. When I called to book the appointment it was last minute that morning. I believe I spoke with the actual owner who was lovely. They were booked for the time I needed but she took my number and said she would try to find a therapist to come in. She called back and was able to give me an appointment. I couldn't believe how accommodating she was!
I was so impressed with this gem of a spa. The prices are also very reasonable compared to places I visited before: hotels, chain massage stores, or larger spas. The whole experience was positive but the most important aspect, the actual treatment, was top notch. I love massage so I have a lot to compare it to. I will definitely return!
