Corner Closet

I visited the Corner Closet while renting a home in the area in September, 2013. I was with my sister, my mother and my mother's friend. We entered the store and immediately it reminded me of other such stores I frequent in the many towns and cities I've visited. The sales lady asked us to let her know if we needed any help. My sister and I were delighted and walked quickly through the small store looking at shoes and bags. My mother was once a gown seamstress and was taken by a dress hanging near the front of the shop. She touched the dress and I heard the sales lady say, "Don't touch that, it's sold!" Her tone shocked all of us and I wondered why a sold dress would hang along with all the other merchandise. My mom's friend said, "C'mon girls, we are leaving." Then she sarcastically remarked, "Don't touch anything, have some manners." The sales lady barked, "Yes, have some manners. Why don't you go back to where you came from you fat slob!" Half way up the street I began to come out of shock at what just happened. It seemed surreal that a sales lady could say such a thing. My mother's friend was so upset that she went back to the store to ask the sales lady her name. She wanted to report her to the BBB. The sales lady told her to leave. Needless to say we did not buy anything at this store and do not recommend it unless you are into that sort of treatment..

I consigned several articles there last summer. She sold one beautiful hand-painted chiffon top and treated the rest of my things like garbage (things which I later sold in a very upscale shop on Madison Avenue in Manhattan). She said she would pay me in a week and never paid. I also consigned a genuine Louis Vuitton Noe large handbag to her. When I went to the shop last fall (2012), a person working there told me that Seena, the owner was in Europe. My handbag was not anywhere in the shop so I assumed that either she sold it or was traveling with it in Europe. I left a message which was never returned. I sent her an email in December 2012 and never received a reply. She is dishonest and not to be trusted.
