Majestic Pools & Spas

In September of 2005 they installed a liner in my 20x40 pool for $3.700 including a $1,000 deposit, plus additional parts,etc. The cost of water was another several thousand dollars. The owner told me they gave me a really good deal. The liner has since fallen apart, we are not sure why. Most likely it is just old. I called to get a price on a replacement - he offered $3,700 without installation, etc. Fine. I thought I had a duty to check with others and asked for the pool measurements that he had on file. He said "I'm not going to make it easy for you to go to the competition." I suppose I was asking too much. In my mind, I paid professionals for the service to measure the pool; that information belonged to me. The owner made it clear that it was laughable in the industry to release numbers obtained - that information belonged to them. I suppose I was embarrassed with the way the conversation went. I got angry and suggested asking a lawyer what they would think (I was angry). I should have expected him to go ballistic, and then I pretty much did the same. I'm just thinking it would have been easier to A) provide me the numbers on my pool, and B) explain that they offered service far beyond a "better price" I might find elsewhere. He got ugly. I really believe he was just having a bad day. Too bad really.
