I stayed here instead of the Montauk Yacht Club for a friends wedding (that was at the yacht club). The room was ridiculously cheap already, and since no one had booked the nicer rooms, they gave me one of those for the same price. It had two beds and a kitchen, with a terrace overlooking the harbor. Nothing too state of the art, and the decor is a little dated. However, that didn't bother me at all because it was all immaculate in terms of cleanliness and, to be honest, a newer looking hotel room would have seemed out of place.
This motel has a really laid back Montauk feel. Two dogs hanging out in the gravel parking lot, boats rocking back and forth in the marina behind it, an actual sea breeze, the works. The older woman in the check-in office was a real sweetheart, made me feel right at home and made me smile as well. Totally comfortable experience. I would definitely go back. I did stay in mid-April though, so I am not sure if the prices go up in the summer.
