Great little park, and that it's been renamed in honor of Army Staff Sgt. William “Billy” Wilson III.
I grew up in the Hopkins Rd. area in the early '60s lived there until the 80's.
Many may not know this, but this was a town dump site in the '60's.
Not garbage mind you, but was filled in with grass, tree limbs and other 'green' debris that the town collected. I recall many times going there w/ my Father to dispose of grass clippings and such. Nice to see a former dump transformed into useful space and made into a park to honor a local fallen hero.
